Across the fertile plains and mountains of Southern Spain in the western corner of the region, the captivating city of Seville stands in its glory; the heart of Andalucia. Representative of the splendour and grandeur that mimics the rest of the Iberian peninsular, the gleaming city epitomises all that makes Spain popular to so many in search of culture and history. Stunning villas, apartments and other property line the tranquil but bustling streets.
The surrounding province that bears the capitals name, teems with villages and towns that uphold the traditions of this region, the locals display such ´flamenco` - the Castilian word that describes upstanding and pride, as well as the name given to the pink flamingos that flock into the region in early spring. Visitors and settlers choose the region for their retirement, the gracious but sleepy villages and towns of Andalucia come alive in the evenings and proved a perfect location in which to buy property in Spain.

Seville province encompasses towns such as the baroque Moron de la Frontera, El Coronil, Osuna, Ecija, Carmona and Marchena. One such town, Estepa, formally a Carthaginian settlement that was taken by Romans in c.200 BC now provides an ideal place in which to purchase your home in Spain. History was made overnight during the period, and on their arrival, the Romans discovered that the townsfolk had destroyed all of their property and killed themselves rather than surrender to Roman rule. The Romans called their new town Ostipo, also known by Arabic occupiers as Istabba, the relevance of which came from its location on an important trading crossroads. These days, churches of varying ages, adorn every corner it seems, and provide a focal point from which cobbled streets rise steeply towards the monastery that sits high above the town surrounded by pine trees.
These towns of Seville still retain their proud heritage and have a friendly atmosphere. The streets are lined with traditional townhouses, villas, apartments and property that conceal vast central courtyards and picturesque patios that provide shelter from the scorching summers.
The city of Seville itself is striking for its vibrancy. It is the largest town in Southern Spain, the city of Carmen, Don Juan and Figaro. Seville lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir and is one of the largest historical centres in Europe, it has the minaret of La Giralda, the cathedral and the Alcázar Palace.
The Alcazar in Seville was founded in c.8th Century by the rulers of Seville from the time of the Romans. During the 11th Century, it was developed by the Court of Abbadid Dynasty. Despite years of reforms and changes to the buildings, including Pedro the Cruel who completely rebuilt it using parts of other buildings from Seville and Cordoba, the site is still the best example of this type of architecture. Although also not to be missed is the Casa de Pilatos, one of the most beautiful buildings you can visit in Seville. The Cathedral in Seville is the largest Gothic Church in the world, and the place where Christopher Columbus was initially buried. He was then moved to Spanish Territory in the Americas, but now again rests in Seville Cathedral once more. Also check out the Biblioteca Colombina.
